Robert Emerson Robinson, Juvie Jailer, Accused of Trading Candy for Inmate Sex
A jailer at the Harris County Juvenile Justice Center has confessed to sexually assaulting a 15-year-old inmate at the Congress Street facility this May.
A juvenile sex crimes investigator stated that 28-year-old Robert Emerson Robinson coerced the girl by trading her "candy and treats."
As one Facebook wit sardonically put it, "Is it me, or does it seem like EVERYTHING is illegal now?"
Surveillance footage shows Robinson entering the victim's cell after lights-out on the night the alleged offense occurred.
The jailer also confessed to placing his fingers and penis inside the victim's vagina. He characterized his own actions as a "mistake."
Robinson has been charged with second-degree felony sexual assault of a child and is free on a $30,000 bond. He could spend up to 20 years behind bars.
