Shannon Michelle Garcia: Wanted in Fatal Hit & Run That Killed Jeremy Choate (UPDATE w/Arrest)
Driver faces charges.
Police are looking for a 25-year-old woman who they say hit and killed a motorcyclist Saturday and then took off without rendering aid.
Shannon Michelle Garcia, 25, has been charged with accident involving injury or death in the incident, which left a 33-year-old man dead.
His identity has been withheld pending notification of family members. He is Houston artist Jeremy Choate, as our sister blog Art Attack notes.
HPD says Choate was riding a black Honda Goldwing motorcycle northbound through the intersection of Studemont and the Katy Freeway sometime Saturday when he was struck from behind by Garcia, who was driving a Ford Fusion.
Garcia "seriously injured the victim," HPD says. "The driver then fled the scene in her vehicle. The victim was transported to the hospital," where he later died.
