A 37-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her estranged husband on the far west side early yesterday afternoon, but police indicate the husband might have been acting in self-defense.
Tasleemah Harvey was pronounced dead at the scene in the 12400 block of Bexley about 2:15 p.m.
She and her husband, Zachariah had separated but were still living together at the home with their children.

As for further description of events, we'll let the official HPD release on the matter do the talking:
The two began to argue about a past due electric bill and [Zachariah] Harvey, believing that Mrs. Harvey would become violent, went to his bedroom and locked his door. Mrs. Harvey kicked in the door and began to physically assault her husband. Harvey left his bedroom and went to the kitchen to hide several knives, so that Mrs. Harvey could not assault him with the knives.
Mrs. Harvey then grabbed a knife and attempted to stab Harvey. Harvey, holding several knives, then stabbed Mrs. Harvey one time in the chest. Mrs. Harvey fell to the floor and, after calling 911, Harvey began to perform CPR
Any charges are pending further investigation and an autopsy, police say.
