Teacher Accused of Molesting 10-Year-Old Student
Police arrested Roman Zalasar, 54, a first- and second-grade teacher at Tijerina Elementary School, for allegedly molesting a ten-year-old boy who was a student in his class.
The boy told police the abuse occurred between mid-October and late November of last year. According to reports, the boy said his teacher fondled him twice and kissed him several times.
The boy is reportedly in fifth grade and helped Zalasar after school. According to a statement, Houston ISD officials say they have cooperated with an investigation that led to Zalasar's arrest. In December he had been assigned to off-campus activities with no classroom duties.
Zalasar was released after posting $30,000 bail.
