Things (Not) To Do in Houston, Per USA Today
is running a package on Things To Do in Houston, including a whole slew of things you can do forunder two bucks
. (Somehow the list doesn't include "Buy Half a Gallon of Gas.")
The accompanying "city guide" is full of the usual travel-section language ("While Houston has a certain Southern swagger, it also has the sophistication and international flair you might expect in a city that's the 4th largest in the country"). It also promises there's lots, lots, lots to do here.
There's just one problem.

The city-guide page features a slide show of five examples of Houston's fabulosity, such as its skyline (available for under two bucks!) and the Johnson Space Center.
But take a look -- notice anything wrong with this particular shot from the slide show?
The Texas Cyclone at Astroworld? Good luck getting a ride. Astroworld's been closed for nearly three years.
If you like, you can stand outside the fence at Kirby and 610 and look at the empty grassland where all the rides and buildings used to be. We're sure it would cost you less than two bucks.
