Think, Jeff, Think!
Jeff Skilling has been pretty lucky lately.
We all know what happens if Average Joe gets pulled over for DWI. But what did Mr. Skilling get when he was pulled over last month in Dallas and was accused of being under the influence? A $385 ticket.
So you have to wonder how he's taking today's ruling handed down by U.S. District Judge Sim Lake. Twenty-four years and two months — or 292 months — all for allegedly lying to auditors, committing fraud and helping screw employees out of their retirement. Must seem kinda harsh.
Of course, Skilling will appeal. For now, his options seem pretty limited. He could take up a hobby, like his pal Andrew Fastow. He could try fleeing the country.
