This Weekend On The West Loop Just Got A Whole Lot Better
This weekend was shaping up to be a Halloween nightmare, or something, on the West Loop.
Two northbound lanes shut from Beechnut to San Felipe, from 9 p.m. tonight to 5 a.m. Monday. The ramps connecting the northbound Loop to the Southwest Freeway closed from 9 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday. And the ramp connecting 59 to the northbound Loop closed from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.
Not good, if you'd plan on having anything to do this weekend with the Galleria area or Meyerland.
The good news is that all the construction has been put off. The bad news is that it all starts up Monday night.
That's probably a better option than the weekend, if you ask us. The Loop will be affected by "occasional closures" up until November 15 as the highway department removs and replaces "deteriorating pavement markings."
You can check with TranStar and TxDOT here for any further updates.
