Two Unidentified Females, 56 & 84, Bayou Body Count Nos. 104 & 105
A cab driver has been charged with criminally negligent homicide in the deaths of two passengers Friday afternoon, Houston police say.
David Wayne Houston, 56, was driving a Yellow Cab about 5 p.m. Friday on the Eastex Freeway north of Crosstimbers when he veered out of his lane and struck a Volvo tractor-trailer that was stopped in the emergency lane, police say.
The rear-seat passenger was pronounced dead at the scene; a front-seat passenger died en route to Memorial Hermann Hospital.
Houston received only minor injuries. The names of the victims have not been released pending notification of relatives.
