Before you head off to get an early start on your three-day Good Friday weekend, you have the opportunity to stick it to The Man.
Residents of the Hyde Park area of Montrose are staging a rally at the corner of Waugh and Welch this afternoon at 5 pm . They're pissed because, they say, the city is refusing to enforce deed restrictions that might stop developers from buying up the somewhat stately homes of the area and cramming the lots with townhomes.
If you don't feel like getting out of the car, protestors are encouraging you to drive by and offer a honk and a thumbs-up, which will definitely get the attention of City Hall. We guess.
But hey, a little drive-by protest aimed at saving a neighborhood ain't a bad way to start the weekend. - Rich Connelly
