Unidentified Woman Found Dead on Floor in Hotel Room: Bayou Body Count No. 190
A woman who appears to have been assaulted before her death was found in a hotel room at 425 North Sam Houston Parkway East last Friday and Houston police are investigating.
The woman, whose identity still has not been verified by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, checked into the hotel on November 1 with an unidentified man. He left in the early morning hours.
Hotel staff checked the room to ready it for the next occupants. They found the woman apparently sleeping on the floor and left. It was only much later in the day when they rechecked that they found out she was dead.
HPD Homicide Division Officers M. Chaney and I. Ulloa reported:
On the afternoon of Nov. 1, the victim and a male checked into a hotel at the above address. Both were seen together by hotel staff the rest of the evening. According to witness statements, the couple was also seen arguing.
About 5:45 a.m. on Nov. 2, the male checked out of the hotel. When hotel staff then went to check the room to prepare it for more guests, the victim was found lying on the floor inside the room. Hotel staff left, returned several hours later and found the victim still lying on the floor. Hotel staff then checked on the victim and found she was deceased.
Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
