Updated: Police have identified the 26-year-old dead man as Dwayne Mitchell.
An argument led to a fatal shooting on the north side Friday evening, Houston police say.
One man was killed and another injured in the incident, which happened in the 400 block of East 43rd about 8:20 p.m. Friday. Their identities have not been released pending notification of family members.
Police say the men were standing in a driveway at the location and got into an argument with an unknown suspect.
"When the argument escalated, the suspect pulled a gun and shot both victims multiple times," HPD says. "The suspect fled the scene before officers and paramedics arrived."
The fatality was taken to a local hospital where he died. The other victim is in stable condition.
