Video of Deadly Rumble at the Gas Station: Ricardo Gomez, 19, Bayou Body Count No. 127
Houston police have released surveillance video of a deadly shooting at a northwest-side gas station/convenience store about 2:15 a.m. Monday.
Ricardo Gomez, 19, died of a shotgun wound in the incident, police say.
A group of people had left the nearby El Chaparral nightclub and were buying stuff at the store when things began to go wrong, according to the video.
A physical altercation soon spread to include a bunch of people tussling; at some point, guns came out and at least one was fired.
"The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 30s, with close cut hair, facial hair on his chin, tattoos on both arms and a medium build. He was wearing a red shirt and blue jeans," HPD says. "The male fled the scene in a white Chevrolet Silverado extended cab, stepside pickup truck that has specialty chrome or polished aluminum rims."
