What a Champ
Like we said back in last September, Paul Wall lives up to his nickname of "The People's Champ." Not only was he in attendance at our Music Awards ceremony last night, but he hung around long after he collected his award for Best Major Label Rapper, signing autographs and posing for pictures with his fans. Wall took the stage to the strains of his very H-Towncentric hit "They Don't Know" and thanked the Press for showing him "a ton of love over the years."
Really, we were seriously touched. We wish all the city's major stars would come out to this event. Imagine if you looked out over the crowd and saw Scarface sitting next to Billy Gibbons, Beyonce next to Clint Black, Chingo Bling next to Mike Jones. Who says Houston can't have Hollywood glamour?
Thanks again to Paul Wall, and here's hoping that next year many more performers of his level of fame and success come out for the fun. — John Nova Lomax
