Yao Ming May Never Play Another Game
The Houston Rockets have announced that oft-injured center Yao Ming has a stress fracture in his left ankle.
Time to say goodbye?
He's missed most of this season with the sort of foot-ankle injuries that have plagued him throughout his career.
There's no timetable set for a return. Yao had been hinting lately that he was ready to play again, but the Rockets medical staff had other ideas.
There was no speculation, of course, whether this would finally be the end of Yao's career. But he has said before that if injuries kept recurring he would consider retirement.
And even if he gives it a try, a franchise wouldn't be smart building a team on the belief that Yao would be able to get through a season. We think it's over.
