Case's parents came with their own athletic pedigrees. At Abilene's McMurry University, Susan played three sports and Steve was on the offensive line. They recently attended a Fellowship of Christian Athletes event in Abilene with Case's sister Allison.

Even though Keenum won the Texas Class 3A Division I state championship in 2004...

...only the University of Houston offered him a scholarship.

Keenum attempted a pass at UCLA on September 18, 2010, the last time the star quarterback saw game action.

A week before tearing his ACL, Keenum, who was touted as a Heisman hopeful, suffered a game-ending concussion against UTEP.

Even after former UH coach Art Briles took the Baylor job, Case never seriously considered leaving his surrogate family.

In 2008 under first-year head coach Kevin Sumlin, Case and UH beat Air Force in the Armed Forces Bowl — the school's first bowl win in 28 years.

During the summers, Keenum volunteers his time as a huddle leader at FCA camps.

Keenum became a prayer leader at the campus FCA meetings. His father is an area director based in Abilene and his fiancée works in the Houston office.
