Russian-American photographer Dr. Valentin Gertsman has made a career of architectural photography. Born in Russia, Gertsman fought Fascists as a Red Army soldier during the Siege of Leningrad at the age of 17. After his time in the army, he started a family and trained to become a doctor and surgeon. When he left the country in 1974, he settled in Houston.
