One of the most common complaints about modern dance is that it’s too cryptic — even to dance enthusiasts. Dancers and choreographers don’t like to confuse their crowds, but they don’t want to simplify their work too much, either. Thankfully, there’s a fun, creative solution to this disconnect at the Several Dancers CORE Salon, where the company will perform new works in an informal setting, inviting audiences to learn about the creative process and offer feedback while mingling with performers and fellow dance lovers. Tonight’s installment will include performances of Beppie Blankert’s “Cumulus” and Alicia Sanchez’s “The Found Steps,” which will premiere next season. 6 to 8 p.m. Magnolia Ballroom, 715 Franklin.
