  • Baylor Says That's Not A Noose, That's A Swing

The president of Baylor University has sent out an e-mail to students and staff explaining that a rope, found hanging from a tree on Election Day, was not a noose. President David Garland said students had come forward to explain the rope was merely the remnants of a swing that they had tried to build. Because those nutty, sedate Baylor kids are still into such 1950s things as rope swings and malt shops (and lynchings?), we guess. Garland further explained that an investigation into whethe

I wonder if Drayton is going to ask the same thing of Miguel Tejada. Because it is now being reported that the Feds, after a year of investigation, are convening a grand jury to look into whether Miguel Tejada lied to Federal investigators who were investigating Rafael Palmeiro.

Photo by lisaschafferphotoThere there, little soldier. Miguel Tejada faced the press yesterday and took the coward's way out. Crying and stumbling over his words, Tejada confessed his sorrow for not telling Congressional investigators that he knew of another player that took steroids. Tejada and his posse, including his attorney Mark Tuohey, refused to accept questions from the press, and both put a spin on what happened to Tejada earlier that doesn't quite match with the facts of what actuall

  • Teachers Are (Allegedly) Sexing It Up At Spring High School

Here's a letter no high school principal wants to write: "Hey parents! One of our teachers was getting it on with a student. Oh and, hey, you know, while I've got your attention and everything, one of our other teachers is being investigated for the same thing. Go Lions!!!"That's not quite the wording that Spring High principal Donna Ullrich used, but we guess you have to be a little more nuanced in getting bad news out.Ullrich informed parentsin "an URGENT letter" that Spring science teacher
