Forty-six years ago today, a group of teenagers gathered in a Portland, Oregon, studio to record a ridiculously simple anthem that would go on to become one of the most influential - and most misunderstood - songs in rock history. It would be interesting to find out how many weddings have taken place at Discovery Green since it opened last year, but it's hard to imagine that any of them could have been any livelier than Brave Combo's free concert there Thursday evening.
