We here at Rocks Off are only about a week away from chafed inner thighs, weird Japanese punk bands puking in hotel pools and sweating out our morning mojitos while walking to an art space off 4th Street.
South By Southwest is now only a week away. It was all fun and games in December when we were posting our little suppositions of who would be playing, but now this shit is serious.
In addition to all the nightly mess, SXSW is also a great place to get loaded on the cheap during the day. N

We valiantly attended the Rachael Ray party at Maggie Mae's on Sixth, braving free food curate by the talk show host and Rose's Mojitos by the gallon.
Hometown boy Bob Schneider opened the show upstairs, doing his old reliable ladykilling jams. While downstairs New York's Semi Precious Weapons preened and pouted, jolting the middle of the road crowd out of their food coma with sleazy rock and roll straight outta the Bowery circa 1977.
The food was excellent of course. N
So in addition to not being able to get T.I's "Whatever You Like" outta our skulls since last fall, here comes blonde pixie Anya Marina's sultry acoustic version of the hip-hop hit.
Marina is based out of San Diego, Calif., and when she's not writing sweet lil' acoustipop with her backing band, she's a morning DJ for one of the city's radio stations. She reminds us of another San Diego-area artist, Jewel, who wrote plenty of come-hither jams on an acoustic guitar, except Marina hasn't been on
