  • R.I.P. "England" Dan Seals

I didn't know until he died Wednesday that "England" Dan Seals was originally from the tiny, remote West Texas oilfield outpost where my father was born, McCamey. A country singer by predisposition, Seals went on to pop fame as part of the duo England Dan and John Ford Coley in the mid-'70s, with hits like "I'd Really Love To See You Tonight" and "Nights Are Forever." Make-out music in the extreme, there's almost no way to tell how many marriages and babies are bound up forever in the syrup

  • I Can't Get Enough of That Susan Boyle Woman

Many moons ago, I blogged about not being able to stop watching that clip on Dancing with the Stars where Marie Osmond fainted (the post was titled "I Can't Get Enough of Marie Osmond Fainting.") People called me out, saying I was a "sick pervert" and that I represented everything that was wrong with our world. So would it make y'all feel any better if I told you that I keep watching that clip of Susan Boyle on Britain's Got Talent?
