  • R.I.P. Dom DeLuise

According to multiple reports, actor, comedian, chef and cookbook author Dom DeLuise has passed away in Los Angeles at age 75. DeLuise starred in several Mel Brooks movies, including Blazing Saddles (above) and Spaceballs, as well as The End with Burt Reynolds, The Muppet Movie and just about every TV show taped from the 1970s through the '90s. DeLuise also appeared as Melvin P. Thorpe, the character based on late Houston TV reporter Marvin Zindler, in the 1982 film adaptation of Larry L. King'

  • The Five Best Dom DeLuise Movies, Such As They Are

Dom DeLuise -- actor, chef, and father of that guy who was on 21 Jump Street -- passed away Monday at the age of 75. • Top 7 Couples' Costumes for Halloween

Halloween is coming, and that means many, many costuming mistakes will be made by normally sane adults. To help stop this scourge, each Thursday we will be offering tips and analysis of what to avoid, or possibly what to do. Check out past entries here, here and here. There's one thing -- or should we say two things? -- you can count on every Halloween: some annoying couple dressing up in a his-and-hers theme that they consider pure genius, if for no other reason than it expresses their false b

  • Westheimer Block Party Listology: Paris Falls' Favorite, and Least Favorite, Musical Moments In the Movies

All this week, Rocks Off is previewing Saturday and Sunday's Westheimer Block Party by asking WBP performers to fill out a list from Lisa Nola's Music Listography book we're so fond of. It's not too late for your band to be up here, either; just email chris.gray@houstonpress.com by noon Thursday if you want to play. Next up, neo-classic rock family band Paris Falls' Ray Brown tells us what he likes and doesn't like about music in the movies. The Circle Jerks' lounge version of "When the Shit Hi
