At Boston Market, New Menu Items - Served on Real Plates!
Based on recent customer satisfaction polls, Boston Market has decided to revamp its image. And the changes seem to be in the right direction. Boston Market was stuck in this kind of weird niche between fast food and a real restaurant, and though it's still kind of hovering there, it's now doing so in the best possible way.
So what has changed? For starters, they added several new menu items, and I stopped by and tried some of them. There are four new sides: Loaded Mashed Potatoes, Garlicky Lemon Savoy Spinach, Squash Casserole, and Mediterranean Green Beans. You can also choose from one of five new sauces to go with your rotisserie chicken (try the Sweet Thai Chili Garlic - it's really good stuff). There are also new soups, like chicken tortilla, and salads and sandwiches for lunch. And there are some excellent new coffee and desserts if you feel like lingering after your meal.
Boston Market changed up the uniforms, adding a splash of color to the place. The staff is there to make sure you have everything you need, including drink refills, but they aren't exactly servers, which means you save money by not tipping.
And your meal now comes on a real plate with real silverware, which is not only more environmentally friendly, but also makes the whole meal seem homier. Many of these may seem like small changes, but together they make for a better meal.
