Bartender Chat: Kassidy Motal of Ruthie's

Bartender by night and pin-up model by day, Kassidy Motal is one hot mama. She's tattooed, pierced and ridiculously cute, but none of that stops her from being one of the most bubbly, happy people you'll ever meet.

I stopped by to see Motal at Ruthie's (1829 Richmond), a blink-and-you-miss-it hole in the wall that is as diverse and unpretentious as their star bartender. She is there Tuesdays and Wednesdays because she enjoys the "so chill, so laid back" vibe and she is happy to finally have a job that allows her to wear whatever she wants.

But if upscale joints with antique lamps are more your thing, you can also find her at Nouveau Antique Art Bar (2913 Main Street) on the weekends.

"That's my creative outlet," she said. "I can experiment with drinks since, at Ruthie's, there's no liquor."

So what's her favorite drink to make right now? "Blueberry Cosmo is my signature drink. It's a mixture of Stoli blueberry, triple sec, splash of fresh lemon, splash of fresh lime and cranberry juice with fresh blueberries muddled in."

I certainly picked the wrong place to visit this fancy mixologist. "It's really refreshing and summery," she said. I can't wait to try it.

When asked what Motal is currently drinking, she pulled out a bottle of Sailor Jerry and mixed it with cola. Turns out she is a brand ambassador for Sailor Jerry, which means she's that awesome chick who hands out free booze at events. Did I mention I have a new girl crush?
