In the latest flocking of a popular restaurant to the downtown area, BB's Café joins the scene with its distinctive Tex-Orleans cuisine at a second location. The original will remain at 2710 Montrose.
Perfectly situated at the corner of Louisiana Street and Texas Avenue (c'mon - how'd they manage that?) in the Theater District, BB's new location at 509 Louisiana will open for weekday lunches this summer, expanding its hours in the fall to accommodate theater crowds and dinner-seekers. BB's also will be offering boxed lunches, salads and breakfast deliveries to offices downtown, although the specifics on that have not yet been announced.
BB's offers an eclectic mix of authentic po-boys (you have to try the roast beef - the gravy is flippin' awesome), Mexico City-style tacos and a mess of other options from gumbo to grillades. The original location was founded by Brooks Bassler in 2007 with business partner and executive chef Enedino Cristobal.
