Reading through a thread at marijuana.com on the subject of pairing marijuana and beverages, I was shocked at the lack of research. Aside from some advice about pairing blunts with malt liquor, and a pretty good shaken margarita recipe that was recommended with "spicy buds," there was little evidence of any serious connoisseurship.
The similarity in aroma between Cascade hops and high-grade marijuana is what brought the subject to mind. I wondered if anyone had tried pairing super-hoppy IPAs with a fragrant strain of cannabis. Would the two flavors complement each other? Or are they too similar to work together? And what about the quality of the altered state?
Having written reams on the subject of pairing cigars and after dinner drinks, back in my tobacco-obsessed youth, I feel like there is a lot more research to be done here. Feel free to elucidate us if you have any insight into the subject.
