And this year, the museum spread the dozens of restaurants out even further, creating an easy flow and intimate seating areas where guests could relax in sari-draped style.
In addition to fun Bollywood mashups by DJ Dave Wrangler in the entrance hall, DJ Pankaj spun Desi music next to the museum's Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton all night, occasionally accompanied by Indian classical dancers of the Anjali Center.
The museum made smart use of its space for this year's Big Bite Night, taking guests through an extended tour of its expanded Hall of Gems. There's nothing quite like snacking on lobster balls next to some of the Russian Crown Jewels, after all.
Chefs Cunninghame West of Valentino and Tommy Birdwell from TQLA were on hand to greet guests and offer samples of their food downstairs, while Chef Maurizio Ferrarese from Quattro greeted guests in full toque upstairs.

Big winners from the evening were crab-based, including the luscious crab Danton from Danton's, the popular seafood restaurant just down the street from the museum, served by Danton Nix himself. But the best bite was an enormous, guacamole-topped crab cake sliders from Truluck's. Everything's better with a little guac on it, right?
