Not that I ever need an excuse to eat cupcakes, but this week it's nice to know those calories will do more than just fuel a sugar high. As part of Cupcakes for a Cause, Sugarbaby's Cupcake Boutique will donate $1 from every specially decorated CancerCare cupcake sold through this Saturday.
The CancerCare cupcakes come in three varieties (chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream, "very" vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream, and "very" vanilla cake with chocolate buttercream) and are adorned with smiley faces. When I stopped by the boutique for my charity indulgence, I said I would limit myself to just a single cupcake, but all those grinning garnishes seemed to say, "Pick Me!" and it was oh so difficult to buy just one. Well, I can always go back.
I finally selected the vanilla-chocolate combination cupcake, which I very much enjoyed as a pre-lunch snack. The cake was moist and strong in vanilla flavor, the frosting rich and cocoa-y, and my conscious--so not guilty knowing it was all for a good cause.
