Yo' Mama Mia: Imagine our delight to discover turnip greens, of all things, in a recent special-of-the-day pasta dish ($12.95) at Mingalone Italian Bar & Grill [500 Texas Avenue, (713)223-0088]. It's a striking combination: Those soulful greens work as well uptown as down, it seems. A thick mass of very fine angel-hair pasta is tossed with garlic-scented olive oil and a jumble of chopped fresh tomatoes, shallots and earthy, barely bitter greens, then topped with four large shrimp. Alongside the generous bowl of pasta you'll find crusty bread and, of course, seasoned olive oil for dipping.
