This week's summery Snackshot comes to us courtesy of Erika Ray and Froberg Farm.
From the photographer's description:
"My friend Jon and I visited Froberg Farm in Alvin last weekend to pick up some goodies. It was so much fun and such a great Saturday-morning activity. I hope this is the first of many farm visits."
Froberg Farm is off of County Road 190 (a.k.a. Alvin-Manvell Road) between Alvin and Manvell, just south of Houston. The farm is known not only for its tomatoes, but also for its strawberries, okra and purple-hull peas (which are hard to find these days). Make sure you save room for the other on-site goodies, too, such as candy and fresh sausage from the meat market next door.
Remember to submit your own photos (of food or anything else) to the Houston Press Flickr Pool. We'll choose our favorite food photo each Monday to be featured here on Eating Our Words.
