Tacos for Lunch at the Last Concert Café
Some people know the Last Concert Café as a great Mexican restaurant. Others know it as a really cool outdoor music venue. I know it as a place that is very close to my office, where lunch is pretty cheap.
I usually order the standard LCC shredded chicken tacos plate that comes with rice and beans for $6.99. They taste kind of like something I would make at home. On my last visit, though, I was feeling a little adventurous and subbed out one of the chickens for one of the Apolinar's shredded beef for 50 cents more. It was described on the menu as shredded roast beef, and that sounded delicious.
The beef action did not disappoint. I would describe it as being more of a stewed shredded beef than roasted. It had a delicious savory red gravy infused right in. The Apolinar's wasn't spicy at all, but it held LCC's garlicky and fiery salsa well. These tacos will be a new go-to lunch.
