Samuel Adams Fall Beer Dinner @ The Palm Friday, 6:30 p.m. 6100 Westheimer
The Palm is hosting a four-course fall dinner paired with Samuel Adams beers. The night begins with a reception at which Samuel Adams Double Agent IPL will be served with crostini topped with caramelized onions, apple chutney and cream cheese, crispy cornmeal-crusted oysters with an ancho BBQ sauce, and ahi tuna tartare served on a fried wonton with wasabi crème. Guests then have a choice of ale and onion soup or blueberry-cumin glazed lollipop lamb chops paired with Samuel Adams Octoberfest for the first course, followed by the second course of baby arugula salad with poached pears, Danish blue cheese and pistachios, served with Samuel Adams White Lantern. The third course includes a choice of a porcini-rubbed prime 14-ounce NY strip infused with Samuel Adams molasses steak sauce; bangers and mash with veal sausage; or pan-roasted red snapper filet with pumpkin risotto, each paired with Samuel Adams Boston Lager and Samuel Adams Light. The final course is a chocolate pecan pie served with a Samuel Adams Thirteenth Hour Stout float and vanilla ice cream. Tickets are $85 for 837 Club Members and $110 for non-members.
Fall Burgundy Wine Dinner @ Kiran's Friday, 6:30 p.m. 4100 Westheimer
If you'd rather have a dinner paired with wine, reserve your spot as soon as possible for tonight's Fall Burgundy Wine Dinner at Kiran's. Tickets cost $175, but you will enjoy French wines from Bouchard Père et Fils paired with an array of dishes, plus the chance to speak with the winery's regional manager, Thyann Johnson, as he explains the history of each wine and how it pairs with the food. The meal begins at 6:30 p.m. with a reception featuring egg shells filled with vodka cream and caviar, plus poached oysters wrapped in green leaves, both paired with Bouchard Chassagne Montrachet 2011. The first dinner course is a saffron-infused lobster risotto with poached Gulf shrimp paired with Bouchard Meursault 2011. Next, guests will enjoy cumin-infused warm vichyssoise with Bouchard Puligny-Montrachet 2011, followed by an intermezzo of passion fruit sorbet. The third course is a double-roasted Cornish hen with lentils, truffles and caramelized pearl onions with Bouchard Vosne-Romanée 2011. Guests will then finish the dinner portion of the meal with Lamb Wellington and Bouchard Nuits-Saint-Georges 2011. Finally, a dark-chocolate mousse with walnut fruit bread and cheeses will be served alongside coffee and Bouchard Premier Cru Pommard 2011.
Kemah Oktoberfest 2013 @ Kemah City Parking Lot Friday-Sunday, 12 p.m. Bradford Ave. between 6th and 7th Streets
In one of the many Oktoberfest celebrations around Houston, Kemah hosts its German festival all weekend. Admission is FREE on Friday, but tickets for Saturday and Sunday cost $8; children 12 and under are admitted free. Come drink steins of beer, eat pretzels, spaetzle and sauerkraut, and bratwurst from King's Biergarten, as well as seafood and burgers from The Swamp Shack while listening to classic German music throughout the day.

In case you didn't know, Brewfest, sponsored by us, takes place on Saturday. We've paired up with Lucky's Pub to bring you an Oktoberfest celebration from 2 to 7 p.m. Each general admission ticket gives you eight 3-ounce beer, wine or liquor samples from Blue Moon Brewing Co., Karbach Brewing, Saint Arnold Brewery and many more. A general admission ticket also gives you access to three food trucks: Tha 1 Truk, which will be serving buffalo wings and jalapeño poppers; Yummy Dog, serving pretzel buns, sausage, hot dogs, kielbasa and bratwurst; and Third Coast, which will offer steak sandwiches. All guests are welcome to help select the winner for the Seasonal Beer Competition as well. Sample a variety of pumpkin ales and Oktoberfest lagers from participating breweries, then vote for your favorite. If you haven't bought your tickets yet (shame on you), order them now for $35, or $45 at the door.
Cold Front Throw Down Poolside Party @ Four Seasons Hotel Sunday, 4-6 p.m. 1300 Lamar at San Jacinto
It's beginning to feel a lot like...aut-uuumn! Well, at least it will on Sunday; the temperatures are predicted to stay below 77 degrees on that day. Four Seasons Hotel is opening up The Deck for anyone and everyone to enjoy a poolside party complete with $5 Texas beer and house wines and $7 autumn cocktails. And what goes better with discounted beer, wine and cocktails than s'mores? Did we mention they are free, just like the valet? Four Seasons Hotel will also serve a pool menu if booze and marshmallows don't fill you up; order the Drink Pink cocktail for $12 to raise money for the Stehlin Foundation in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The party takes place on the fourth-floor pool bar from 4 to 6 p.m.
