Spend the evening at Discovery Green during the H-E-B Movie Night featuring Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on the lawn during this free event. Spaghetti Warehouse will provide meatballs for everyone to munch on, too -- fitting, right? There will also be concession stands for guests to purchase beer, wine and food. Activities begin at 7:45 p.m., and the movie will start at 8:45 p.m.
Sherlock's Inaugural Brew Fest @ Sherlock's Baker St. Pub - Clear Lake Saturday, 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. 2416 Bay Area Blvd.
Sherlock's Baker St. Pub in Clear Lake will host its first Brew Fest featuring Texas breweries, such as Southern Star, Galactic Coast Brewing and 512 Brewing Company. A $25 ticket gives you 16 tastings of any available brews. Fort Bend Brewing Company will be unveiling its latest creation, Phat DJ IPA, too. Crawfish will be available by the pound for $4.99. Tickets can be purchased at the pub.
Toast the World @ Spring Street Studios Saturday, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. 1824 Spring Street
Travel "around the world" during the Toast the World Wine Walk at Spring Street Studios tomorrow. Reservations for the event must be made before noon Friday (some tickets will be available at the door); each ticket costs $30 and includes a special wine glass to be used at the event. Select from 14 wines and snack on various appetizers from Miss K's Catering, Oak Leaf Smokehouse and Seasons 52. There will also be a silent auction. Proceeds from the wine walk will benefit Italian Greyhound Rescue South Texas.
Texas Fine Wine Pairing Dinner @ Reef Saturday, 7 p.m. 2600 Travis
Sip on a variety of wines from the four Texas Fine Wine wineries (Bending Branch Winery, Brennan Vineyards, Duchman Family Winery and Pedernales Cellars) during the Texas Fine Wine Pairing Dinner at Reef. For $75, each guest will be treated to a five-course meal paired with a wine from each winery. The meal begins with pickled shrimp and a smoky remoulade paired with Duchman Vermentino, followed by an arugula salad with roasted beet, goat cheese and country ham paired with Brennan Viognier. The third course features grilled cobia with bulgogi potato, snow peas and an Asian pear salad paired with Pedernales Tempranillo. The fourth course includes roasted pork loin topped with cherry mustard paired with Bending Branch Tannat. Cap it all off with dark chocolate terrine and balsamic strawberries.
Food Network Star Viewing Party @ Trenza Sunday, 6:30 p.m. 2800 Kirby
Sarah Penrod will represent Houston on Food Network Star this season, so watch the first episode at previous Food Network Star finalist Susie Jimenez's restaurant, Trenza. The viewing party begins at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. Guests will have the chance to mix and mingle with Penrod while enjoying special dishes from Trenza, including $7 appetizers and cocktails.
