The General Public is starting its weekend brunch early, offering locals a refuge from the post-Thanksgiving shopping madness with a Black Friday Brunch. Unwind with boozy brunch offerings, from $1 mimosas and Rumchata hot chocolate to eats like breakfast enchiladas, shrimp and cauli-grits and cinnamon french toast. Afterward, head to the next door Bowl & Barrel, which will keep the party going with $1 mimosas all day long.

All locations of Liberty Kitchen will be hosting “Morning After” brunches after the upcoming holidays, complete with LK favorites like fried chicken and red velvet waffles, pork belly carnitas Benedict, and fried oyster stuffed omelets. The post-holiday brunches will take place the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve, no matter the day of the week. And as a Black Friday special this Friday, locals can enjoy a tasty freebie: a free order of the deviled eggs topped with bacon jam, with the purchase of any brunch or lunch entrée.

BrewMasters Craft Beer Festival at Moody Gardens Hotel, Spa and Convention Center

This eighth annual beer festival will bring more than 400 specialty beers to the island, along with a weekend full of events. On Friday, hit the Nacho-Yo Ordinary Tequila Tasting, featuring a range of tequila-tasting and nachos; or hit some of Galveston’s hottest bars during the BrewMasters Pub Crawl. Saturday brings the Texas Brewery Tasting Tour, showcasing some of the most successful and emerging breweries of the Lone Star State; and the BrewHaHa Grand Tasting, the ultimate craft beer event with tastings, panels, demonstrations and fun. The weekend closes with Sunday’s Brew-B-Que, rocking smokehouse specialties from Harlem Road TX BBQ, live music and plenty of brews. Tickets for the events range from $8 to $165.
