Sweet, salty, savory -- The Roscoe has got it all.

Torchy's Tacos is known for its inventive and creative tacos, and this month, due to high demand, the popular taco shop has brought back the sweet, salty and savory chicken-and-waffles taco known as The Roscoe.
Chicken and waffles is an iconic dish loved by many. Sweet, thick waffles sit under crispy, crunchy, salty pieces of fried chicken drizzled in hot sauce or maple syrup (sometimes both). It's the epitome of sweet and savory.
Torchy's successfully re-creates this classic dish in a soft taco, so don't miss out on this month's specialty.
The Roscoe is a behemoth of a taco. You can tackle it two ways: with a fork and knife, or by picking it up the way you would a normal taco. Warning: The latter method is quite messy.
A soft flour tortilla holds a thin, crispy and sugary waffle, fried chicken strips, a fried egg and salty bacon. With a drizzle of maple syrup on top, your chicken and waffles taco is complete.
The waffle's fluffy interior is encased in a crispy, crunchy caramelized exterior I believe is soaked in maple syrup. The fried chicken's crust is crispy and sweet, and with just one bite you're hit with the salty, sweet and savory oil and sugar from the coating; the inside is delicate, tender and moist. Paired with the fatty bacon and fried egg, this is one intense and complex bite.
Look at that crispy, crunchy bacon and fried chicken.
But the fried egg does not have a runny yolk; it is slightly overcooked. I hoped for the yolk to ooze out of the center onto the waffle and fried chicken, but that might be too messy to eat. I also wish the waffle was slightly thicker. The hard shell overpowers the fluffy interior.
While the flour tortilla takes a backseat, it's there to hold the whole thing together for one perfect salty, sweet and sticky bite.
Pair it with a sugary Mexican Coke and your sweet tooth will be completely and utterly satisfied. Enjoy the Roscoe for $4.75 at any Torchy's Tacos location until March 31.
