Domaine Philippe & Vincent Jaboulet Wine Dinner at Aura Brasserie

The wine dinner starts with a reception with passed hors d'oeuvres at 6:30 p.m. Then, dive into a five-course dinner at 7 p.m. that includes Duck Confit Ravioli with Foie Gras Nage and Baby Vegetables paired with Crozes Hermitage Rouge 2009. Dessert is and Blue Cheese Cake, Candied Pecans, Red Wine Poached Strawberries and Buttermilk Gelato alongside Hermitage Rouge 2009. 15977 City Walk. 6:30 p.m. $89 plus tax and gratuity.

Bacon Bite Delights Class at Central Market

Central Market is celebrating the tastiest meat in the pork world through March 17 with a series of events. Today is a class at the cooking school upstairs on how to make several appetizers featuring the smoky meat. Dishes include Candied Bacon, Bacon Beer Meatballs and Pulled Pork & Bacon Pastry Bites. Fiddlehead Cellars Wine Dinner At Brennan's Of Houston

Kathy Joseph, proprietor and winemaker at Fiddlehead Cellars in Santa Barbara joins Brennan's of Houston for a five-course dinner with pairings. The winemaker is best known for its Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir and produces around 5,000 cases per year. The courses by chef Danny Trace include Sweet Breads and Breaux Bridge Crawfish with 2011 Oldville Reserve Pinot Noir and 44 Farm Beef Belly Ravioli paired with 2010 Lollapalooza Pinot Noir. There's a reception before dinner with passed hors d'oeuvres. Make your reservations here. 3300 Smith. 6:30 p.m. $120 plus tax and gratuity.

If you can get away for some late afternoon cocktails, Omar Yefoon from 86 Co is guest bartending at Prohibition. The cocktails will feature his company's spirits, including Ford's Gin, Tequila Cabeza and Cana Brava Rum. 3:30 to 6 p.m.
