Tuna with a Twist

Let's face it. It's kinda hard to make a tuna sandwich taste good, let alone great. But the Tuna Lemonaise manages to do just that at Café Compliqé (1525 Westheimer, 713-529-5449). They start with two six-inch lengths of warm, crispy baguette which they line with lettuce, tomatoes and onions. Then they fill both sides with a luscious lemon-zested tuna salad which has been blended with a hint of Italian dressing. The clincher, however is the flame-grilled, sweet corn which is added to the top of the sandwich just before serving. This adds a robust grilled note to the already zesty tuna. The accompanying two thick slices of herbed oven fries ensure a carb-loading feast.
