The drink you see below is soju, an essential part of any Korean dinner with friends. I've heard it compared to vodka -- indeed, the colorless and odorless liquor is often served very chilled, much like vodka -- but the distilled rice beverage tastes a bit sweeter than that. Like vodka, however, it packs a punch.
The bottle you see below is 20 percent alcohol by volume, and drinking one is the equivalent to having four beers at dinner...so take it easy, big guy. The good news is that at this restaurant, you'll be getting so much food at one sitting -- including a boat full of Korean sashimi -- that you'll have at least three hours and plenty of food in your belly to soak it up.
