Where to Eat on New Year's Eve and Day 2013

Making plans for New Year's Eve celebrations can be hectic and stressful, but that's why an array of Houston restaurants have opened their doors to help you ring in the New Year with lots of food, dancing, music and, of course, Champagne toasts at midnight.

Treat yourself to an amazing last meal of 2013 and/or first meal of 2014. We have compiled a list of restaurants open on New Year's Eve and/or New Year's Day to help you decide where to eat. We will update the list as more restaurants announce their menus for the holiday.

As always, you should secure your reservation as quickly as possible.

Americas 2040 W Gray, Ste 200, 832-200-1492 21 Waterway Ave, Ste 130, 281-367-1492

Both Americas locations will be open on New Year's Eve serving a $79 menu with wine pairings. Begin the meal with lobster corndogs, bacon-wrapped quail taquitos or corn-smoked crab fingers, each paired with Casteller Cava. Americas will offer either Cordua Corazon Red or Ave Sauvignon Blanc with the main entree options, including an eight-ounce churrasco with chimicurri, sous vide pork shoulder and grilled shrimp, plantain-crusted chicken or arroz paella. End 2013 on a sweet note with tres leches, delirio de chocolate or alfajores.

Artista 800 Bagby St, 713-278-4782

Artista will host a New Year's Eve party with a four-course dinner, three drink tickets, a Champagne toast, party favors and live entertainment for $145. Feast on a trio of tomato tart tatin, smoked lobster bisque and angel wings, followed by a duo of ceviche and shrimp empanadas.

Arturo's Uptown Italiano 1180 Uptown Park Blvd., 713-621-1180

Just as with its Christmas specials, Arturo's will offer a 12-ounce lobster tail and a 32-ounce ribeye in addition to its regular lunch and dinner menus on New Year's Eve.

Backstreet Cafe 1103 S. Shepherd Dr., 713-521-2239

For $72, you can ring in the New Year at Backstreet Cafe complete with a four-course dinner, complimentary Champagne toast and live music from Bob Chadwick. First-course options include the classic cremini mushrooms made escargot-style, bacon-wrapped quail, crab cakes and smoked-duck risotto. Enjoy seared scallops, grilled beef tenderloin or baked penne with butternut squash and goat cheese for the main course. Dessert options include a sticky toffee pudding, salted caramel warm dark chocolate cake, or eggnog cheesecake.

Bistro des Arts 12102 Westheimer Rd., 281-597-1122

Bistro des Arts will seat diners between 5:30 and 9:30 p.m. for its $65 four-course New Year's Eve dinner. Start the meal with foie gras and a red onion confit for the first course, encrusted roasted quail stuffed with foie gras for the second course, and filet mignon in brioche with a Bordelaise sauce for the third course. Top it all off with Mandarine imperiale souffle. You must pay $30 per person with a credit card upon making a reservation.

Bistro Provence 13616 Memorial Dr., 713-827-8008

For New Year's Eve, Bistro Provence will offer two menus, one for the early birds for a one-hour seating between 5 and 5:30 p.m. for $45. The three-course menu features lobster bisque, seafood vol au vent and lemon meringue tart with red berry coulis. A $25 deposit is required for this reservation.

The second dinner will seat for two hours between 6 and 6:30 p.m., as well as 8 and 8:30 p.m. for $80. This three-course menu includes warm oysters with caviar and champagne, honey-glazed duck breast, and chocolate petit pot de crème for dessert -- enjoy a complimentary glass of Vorin Jumel Grand Cru Blancs de Blanc NV with your dessert selection. A $40 deposit is required for this reservation.

BRC Gastropub 519 Shepherd Dr, 713-861-2233

BRC Gastropub has teamed up with Karbach Brewing Co. to bring you a New Year's Eve Beer Dinner for $65. The meal will be served between 6:30 and 9:30 p.m., and includes four courses. The first course begins with a cold Asian noodle and vegetable salad paired with Mother in Lager; the second course features duck confit egg rolls with a house-made plum sauce paired with Painted Lady Saison; the third course includes wild boar meatloaf with garlic confit duck fat mashed potatoes and is paired with Yule Shoot Your Eye Out. Finally, end the New Year with the sweet and spicy "Ohhh Fuuudge" brownie with Amy's peanut butter Frangelico ice cream and a BBH 007 ganache; it is appropriately paired with BBH 007.

Capellini's 4721 N Main St, Ste A, 713-869-3233

For $39.99 you can enjoy a four-course dinner at Capellini's with music from Robert Silver. The meal features shrimp cocktail and your choice of veal scallopini, flounder, NY Strip or chicken cordon bleu. Indulge in a slice of cheesecake or tiramisu for dessert.

Chez Nous 217 S Ave G, 281-446-6717

Chez Nous in Humble will offer a three-course New Year's Eve menu for $75; seatings for this dinner will be at 5, 5:30, 6, 7, 7:30 and 8 p.m. The meal features items such as chilled Champagne cauliflower soup with caviar, poached Maine Lobster, Beef Wellington and a buche de noel for dessert. The same menu with an additional fourth course will be served at 9:30, 10 and 10:30 p.m. for $95.
