The Houston Press is sponsoring a year-long photojournalism contest for Houston-area high school students. Each month a new topic is selected and students are encouraged to enter by sending us their photos. Monthly winners, selected by a panel of judges, get bookstore gift certificates and become eligible to have their work presented in a special exhibition sponsored by FotoFest. In addition, a Readers’ Choice winner is selected each month, based on the results of our online voting. At the end of the year, all finalists will compete for college scholarships.

This month's topic is Colors. Last month's topic was Weather.
