Houston Rally Draws Hundreds of Educators, Students and Parents to Speak Up and Stand Together

In the wake of recent school shootings and teacher walkouts in several states, a rally was held Saturday in Houston's Discovery Green park. Those in attendance demanded more school funding, safety measures for students, educators and administrators and solutions to crippling health-care costs and substandard pay that are driving educators out of the field. It was also an opportunity for Texas school employees to stand together and pledge to vote for candidates in November who will fight for their profession. (Photos by Doogie Roux)
