Members of the Houston Scooter Battalion, art car enthusiasts and animal lovers gathered at Beer Island in the Heights Sunday for the Houston Scooter Battalion's third annual Pawdrophenia fundraiser, benefitting the SMART Animal Rescue.

The group of scooterists, many with dogs in tow, rode as a group to Cactus Music where Christian Arnheiter, lead singer of The Hates, spun punk rock rarities, St. Arnold's provided free beer, and more than $1,200 was raised via a raffle and donations for the all-breeds cat and dog rescue. A few of the dogs currently under the care of SMART were at the record store too, looking for new homes. PHOTOS BY BRITTANIE SHEY
