Road to London: Houston Hosts 2012 Olympic Marathon Trials

Houston beat out the US's two other notorious marathon cities — Boston and New York — to host the Olympic trial to determine who will represent the United States in the 2012 Olympic marathon in London. The top three finishers of each gender — Shalane Flanagan, Desiree Davila, Kara Goucher in the women's race and Meb Keflezighi, Ryan Hall and Abdi Abdirahman in the men's — will each go to London this summer. The trials took place on Saturday, January 14, 2012, a day before the 40th annual Houston marathon. PHOTOS BY MARCO TORRES
