Valentines for Soldiers at St. Arnold's

More than 350 Houstonians gathered at St. Arnold's Brewery on Monday, January 21, for the fourth annual "Valentines for Soldiers" event. Created by Nistha Mehra, the event brings people together to make Valentine's cards and care packages for soldiers overseas, as a way of saying thanks for all that they do. Alongside the card-making session is a bake sale in which local bakers donate their creations, and the public pays what they would like for the goods. Proceeds raised from the bake sale cover the cost of shipping the care packages, and the remaining balance is donated to charity. This year, the Wounded Warrior Project and Team Red, White, & Blue will be the recipients of this donation. PHOTOS BY CARLA SORIANO
