i lived at wilshire village for many years-in fact maybe too many! too bad to see the steady decline in the complex. well actually, it has been in a state of decline for (at least) 20 years. but recently, it looks like various crews of gang members and street people have taken a particular liking to the place, leaving their calling card and harassing tenents (maybe they finally figured out that the palce isn't abandoned and people actually still live there?) i'm glad i got out 3 or so years ago. i don't feel the place is 'safe' anymore. oh, and i know the owner, so please don't publish my name.

Thanks for putting these photos up. I've always wondered if anyone lived there. Too bad the building has been allowed to almost fall apart. I've seen better places torn down.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to completely renovate the place and preserve the historical architecture in the process? Have there been any previous attempts to do such?
