If you live around the North Loop, get ready for a weekend of hassles. Major, major roadwork is scheduled, and it likely won’t be pretty getting around it.
From I-10 in the west to the Eastex Freeway, entire sides of the Loop will be closed down for long stretches.
For traffic trying to go westbound, the fun begins early tomorrow morning: Fom 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, all the westbound lanes are closed.
All the eastbound lanes get their fun the next day, with the same stretch closed for the same time period.
TxDOT says it is installing “Concrete beams and panels and overhang brackets” along the route.
You’ll have to use I-10 to get across town.
