The forlorn Downtown Y is slowly coming down. One wing has been all but demolished, leaving what looks to be a full-size smaller building.
As the equipment continues to chip away at the venerable (for Houston) building, rooms are exposed one by one.
The edifice, which was cool-looking but apparently full of asbestos, was built 70 years ago. The new Downtown Y, of course, is a block away.
