Give or take a letter, Funk tha Heat! is a phrase we’ve been repeating for weeks! It’s also the name of a festival at Helios that’s set out to make summer in Houston a little more tolerable. It’s an all-day outdoor event featuring 12 count ’em, 12 local bands, including Motion Turns It On, skyblue72 and Little Brother Project. Helios will also serve up hot dogs, hamburgers and free popsicles, all under a shady tent. Whatever you have planned today: Funk it! A big, shady tent is the place to be when it’s this funking hot out.
