We have some great commenters here on Hair Balls, and it’s time we paid some damn attention to them.
So we’ll be highlighting a Comment of the Day each morning, from the previous day’s work. Maybe two comments, even.
This will all be determined by a highly rigorous scientific formula involving wit, clarity and whatever else we feel like at the moment.
We offered photos of a major culling of drought-stricken trees by 43rd and T.C. Jester.
One reader said taking the trees away was a sad but necessary task.

Sad to see them go, but glad that the city is doing the right thing by cutting them down now. They are all just a tinderbox ready to ignite! With hopefully cooler weather on the way, I’m glad the errant spark from a fireplace won’t have the opportunity to start a fire that could potentially take out entire neighborhoods and businesses.
