Water, light and relationships: simple yet bountiful topics that are perfect for young artists to use as themes, while leaving plenty of room for creativity. Employing a variety of styles and techniques, students from the University of Houstonยs School of Theatre & Dance explore these and others in todayยs Apply Precision-Rinse. Repeat. The program demonstrates their breadth as both performers and choreographers.
About a dozen students will present new works, including Alex Abarcaยs A Story About Us, about the beginnings and ends of relationships. In another piece, Allison Chavezยs urban/contemporary Aqueous, four dancers use cups of water as props, and Mechelle Flemmingยs Enclosure experiments with different light sources.
